Yes you should select Realtek Digital Output to enable SPDIF output. Also, I recommend you to install the Realtek Audio Driver first, and run the FW update tool to fix potential audio playback problem via SPDIF. After all is done, restart your PC. Realtek audio driver v6.3.9600.2311.
Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons. Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel. Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter. Follow the on screen instructions. I was struggling hard with installing the proper Realtek HD Audio Drivers on my MSI Z790 Carbon Wifi and the only thing that got the drivers to properly install and work as they should was uninstalling the "USB Composite" device started off the exact same as the device ID for "Realtek USB 2.0 Audio".Go to sound options (my win is german, so it may just be something similiar to it), sound system options in the top right corner, select your speaker and go to properties. "Enhanced" control apps basically duplicate a lot of functionality that windows already provides. .
