I would be wondering if the reason the old belt failed so catastrophically is that the power steering pump was/is on its way out hence the grinding problem you're having and stressed the old belt to the point of failure obviously you've now changed the belt but maybe not fixed the fault.Dec 18, 2009. #2. Hello as far as I am aware, it does not have to be timed, but I am no expert, we had a diesel ulysse on a 2000 plate and had a new high pressure pump fitted this did not need timing, your injectors should be operated electronically by the ecu i think. best of luck with it. Hi Guys hope you can help. My doblo 2008 1.9 jtd diesel went into limp mode last week and then won't start, my usual help wasn't available and I call the (local rip of merchant)garage, he told me he would pick up and return car free of charge call me that afternoon and let me know cost of repair.
