The problem is since botting problem is growing and more people are talking about it he is repeatedly getting trouble with people accusing him of botting, insulting and reporting him. Over the last few months it is getting worse and worse. He can not play PvP anymore without sone people in mapchat calling him out as bot and wanting him reported.
This stuff too could help. It was a Q and A on the GW2 site for something similar. I'll post the Q and the A. The Q - "I moved the file "GW2.exe" to a folder and launched it, but it immediately crashed.

So I download the Launcher of the Website, say the Launcher where to Download and Install the Game but yeah The Classic Launcher start, starts to download the Game normally, but the Download Stops at a Random Time
Hi again! I wanted to let you know I was able to create an account. I tried a completely new emailaddress and I picked a password with upper and lowercase letters, numbers and a symbol. I honestly can't tell you which one of those helped. I got errors inbetween, but suddenly it worked :) I think it's the password.

A simple option to test is -diag to cause GW2 to start a test (you can cancel it) rather than the launcher. If you're sure it's correct, look for Gw2.log where Gw2-64.exe is located and under Documents/Guild Wars 2. As a simple disk test, copy/paste Gw2-64.exe while it's stuck. If there's a problem, it'll fail or freeze while copying.
